Operated by washerless cartridge (Delta or Peerless interchangeable). Last longer and less expensive to maintain than ceramic-disc-cartridged faucets. About a year ago I purchased this product because I was not able to find very many in the 2 handle style (which I needed). The shower head is fabulous. The handles has held up very well It stops there. The finish on the faucet head and the drain cover is wearing off leaving a silver like finish showing thru. It looks like it was painted on instead of having the color in the metal. We have very soft water so I know it is not from hard water and it is not from harsh cleaners because I only use baking soda to clean my tub. For the price I guess it was worth it. Would I purchase it again. No. I am going to try to find a replacement for the faucet head which is going to cost me more. Should have bought the expensive ones and been don.
