Do not purchase this item. The chrome gets dangerously hot when the lamp is lit. I discovered the problem while I was dusting the lamp and the back of my hand came into contact with the metal. I thought I had burned my skin. I switched to 60 watt bulbs (I had been using the maximum recommended 100 watt bulbs) and the same occurred. I am replacing the lamp ASAP!
